Hoy en d\u00eda, se tiene constancia de una cerveza funeraria en Raqefet Cavo (Israel) de hace unos 13.000 a\u00f1os, cuando todav\u00eda no \u00e9ramos agricultores. El conocimiento de estas antiguas cervezas resulta muy interesante para entender la evoluci\u00f3n social, pol\u00edtica y simb\u00f3lica de las sociedades antiguas, y tambi\u00e9n ofrece una experiencia de disfrute y placer tanto en la cata como en la gastronom\u00eda. Actualmente, son ya unos cuantos los cerveceros que crean nuevos productos a partir de datos arqueol\u00f3gicos recogidos al analizar recipientes cer\u00e1micos que han contenido cerveza, as\u00ed como a partir de textos, poemas y recetarios antiguos.
